Cape Town Coon Carnival

Every New Year in Cape Town is traditionally welcomed by the so-called Coon Carnival. Thousands of colourfully dressed clowns roam the Mother City's streets dancing, singing and playing music in order to be chosen as the best troupe by their festive onlookers. What was once celebrated as the only day off in the year by the black and coloured communities, is now a cross-cultural festival for all members of society.

Elfriede and Alfred G. are my grandparents. 4 children, 12 grandchildren, Around about 100 plum, 70 cherry and 30 apple trees. 12 Chicken and a few rabbits.
